A friend of mine, Val, has 9 horses, 3 are ponies, and 2 are young and about to start under saddle. So in all she has 5 good riding horses, and of course no one person can keep 5 horses in good shape without some help. Of course I’m willing to help lol. As it happens the ranch I help at (it’s a ranch that rescues horses and helps disabled children) is right down the road from Val’s house.
I’ve completely and totally fallen in love with this 10 year old mare they named Sprinkles. Val’s parents bought Sprinkles for her as a yearling from an auction. Unfortunately back then Val was a teenager and didn’t like white horses, and didn’t like blue eyes, so when her parents brought home a gangly white speckled yearling with blue eyes, Val cried and didn’t want anything to do with her. Spoiled, I know
Well guess what? Turns out Sprinkles is the best horse she ever worked with. Not only is she an awesome trail horse that will go through anything and do anything you ask of her, but she’s also an amazing speed horse, as well as halter and Western Pleasure. Val now has a wall full of trophies from her.
Sprinkles was bred and had a filly sometime in all this, which turned out to be Vals dream horse. Sprinkles wasn’t getting used as much, so they leased her to a family whose son wanted to do barrel racing and other speed events and needed a good horse. Unfortunately this year the son decided to buy his own horse and Sprinkles was brought back to Val’s farm. They used her for trail riding when a new person came to ride, but other then that she pretty much sat.
Well to get to the point, Sprinkles is now my girl to ride and I couldn’t be happier. At first I was scared a bit riding her. She was so fast and stopped on a dime, and she could pivot so fast I thought I was going to fall off half the time lol. Now I absolutely love it. She can go, and go, and go, and go, and never break a sweat. I love having a horse that can do anything I ask of her and want more.
Val came riding with us for the first time in a while yesterday, and she called me this morning to tell me that she hates me lol, because she’s so sore she can barely move. Usually me and Sprinkles go out alone, ride over to the rescue, I’ll put her in the round pen and do my chores, then we’ll go “play” as I like to call it on the trails. Well Val told me she could keep up with me and Sprinkles no problem, so I had to prove her wrong . We were gone all day, and barely walked the horses at all. It was the first time I think I actually tired Sprinkles out. That horse can go forever and not break a sweat. Val’s niece came riding with us and tried to beat me and Sprinkles racing several times, but once Sprinkles has competition, there’s no way she’s going to loose. The horse she was riding was taller and leggier then Sprinkles but we left them in the dust
All in all it was an awesome day and I’m so glad I found my perfect riding partner in Sprinkles

This is me and Sprinkles:

And this is a back shot so you can see her "sprinkles" lol. Anyone have any idea what color she would be considered or what she is besides QH?
