Soring used to be a very common practice for TWH trainers until it was outlawed some years ago. That doesn't stop people from doing it. I've seen some of it first hand at a show I went to years ago. My best friend and I drew attention to two horses at a show that had obviously been sored. It makes me sick! What makes it worse is that people basically get a slap on the wrist and are (as far as I know) left alone to do it again. We need harsher penalties for animal abuse. It has been proven that a lot of serial killers/murderers will torture animals before they move onto humans. Of course, not all people who abuse animals will end up being serial killers, nor will all serial killers abuse animals but there is a connection.
I say, Eye For an Eye! Why don't we sore his feet/legs and then make him stand on them for hours on end, wear chains around his ankles, and make him run around that same arena. That fat a$$ couldn't handle it! He'd probably fall out after the first few feet.. At which point we beat him with whips and boards until he gets up and starts running again.
But that's just my opinion.
