is it jsut me or since when has "brown" been used as a real horse color. i mean isnt it really sappost to be bay. let me know on that one. lol

there is so much stuff wrong with this. :roll:

The way that I always understood it is that bays will be a solid color ranging from dark tan to nearly black with black points (mane, tail, ears, legs) while a brown will be a solid colored horse without black points. I always called a horse brown when they had lighter points around the muzzle and flanks while the rest of them is brown. That may not be the way the AQHA sees it but that's what I go by. :)

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/

Brown has always been a color designation, you just don't see true brown horses very often.

agree w/ Ryle... I keep arguing that Riley is actually a brown... becuase to me his legs are chocolate and not black....
