This is sad to say, but the horse that is supposed to be mine is not the one that I have bonded with(but he is still new to me, so that could explain it).
High Five is absolutely my best friend, no doubt about it. I used to be terrified of him, but then after being around him for a few years, I realized that no matter how bad he acts or how much work he puts me through, I will always love him, which I can't say for most horses.
Like the other day, we were trail riding through some pretty flat trails, and Five and me were in the back of the bunch, slowly walking along. We came across a pack of wild dogs, and one of them took off towards the horses, and scared the horses. Five and I were preoccupied with something else, even after someone screamed dog, I didn't hear them. When Five saw the dogs he took off running and started crow hopping. I went FLYING off of him and he accidently stepped on me(poor thing was scared). Luckily for me, I was wearing a helmet that day, and still almost managed to get a concussion. I couldn't hardly stand up, but when I finally did, I just started laughing at Five and what had happened. His wandering mind and mine caused us to have an accident. Lol. It was too cute. He was terrified, so I did my best to comfort him.
If that would have happened with any other horse, I wouldn't trust the horse enough to ride it back to camp. I love him. I know where he likes to be scratched and rubbed, and I also know that he will always take care of me.
