I know how tough it is running a site of 20 - 30 members, I cannot imagine running a forum as vast and as technical as the horse forum and I am a bit surprised that the new admin is getting any criticism. I didn't have any interaction with Mike, but respected him as an admin and I already respect out new admin for taking on such a huge job and have not gotten a single 'impolite' or 'ill-mannered' vibe despite the fact that I'm sure he is nervous and anticipating at least some negative feedback now that he is joining (and becoming a leader on) such a huge community. I'm not sure I would know what to say right away either, and I'm sure he will make more appearances and become just as personable and well liked as Mike was (and is).

I read it, but I just didn't know what to say (shocking, I know!!). I've never had the pleasure of interacting w/ Mike.

As for the new guy, I'm just going to sit & wait

I know only to well how hard it is to take over the reins of an establsished and well run place. For me at has always been face to face rather than a forum, but there you kind of have to get yourself out there and say Hi to everyone, or it really doesn't work.

The thing is, if you don't get in there quick there will be hundreds of rumors about who you are and what you are about. It is up to each person to work out what works for them, but I guess Alex and I may expect different things to some of you.

What if we already know who Yung is? Mike said some choices were obvious but they didn't have the skill to run the technical side. That doesn't necessarily rule out ALL of the mods, right? Just the obvious ones. And they made a new account under the name "Yungster" so as to not start any drama or anything. Or mayyybe I'm just reading into this too much.
