Having trouble selling Ogre

    It took me several weeks to sell a filly for $150. She wasn't registered or broke (to young) and I really only bought her to keep her out of the kill pen.

    It was a lot of "Oh! We'll come on (name date)" then no-shows. Said they would call back and didn't...etc.

    In the end she DID go to a very nice home who was looking for another younger horse to train. They were very knowledgeable, polite people and gave her a thorough examination before they bought her. She was a little wary about getting into their trailer but they didn't push her or anything, let her go at her own pace. :)

    I would think $300 would be more reasonable in my area right now. Everywhere is different, though. I still think $400 is NOTHING for a pony in great shape.

    I'm actually perfectly happy with my two girls for now. Maybe someday I'll get that old "been there, done that" horse for my daughters, but no hurry.

    Glad to hear you sold him. I think 2 horses is plenty.
