I'll go ahead and do mine, sans pics. I met Gunner at my uncle's house. He and another horse were owned by a man who hadn't seen the horses in over a year. For three years I was there every weekend, sleeping in the pasture in an old camper. I spent all my money on halters for Gunner, grooming supplies...even my first saddle was for him. We rode everywhere....he taught me everything I know about horses. How to ride, how to sit a bolt or a buck, how to be confident. I loved him with all my heart. We offered to buy him from the owner many times...but he refused. Mom wouldn't let me do any kind of meds for him, like worming. One day he got cut on the neck, and went to the vet where he developed serious laminitis. Did he stay and get help? No. The owner brought him back, threw him in a pasture, and SHOD him with plain shoes. This horse couldn't take a step without limping. I still tried to buy him with no success. He and Bud were taken to an auction and I never saw him again. I miss that horse everyday.

Let's add this....in a three-year time span, I never met the owner. The horses had not been wormed, trimmed, or vaccinated. Gunner was actually shod without being trimmed. I believe the idiot at my uncle's did that... I had to roach Gun's mane because the tangles were at the ROOTS and would not come out for the life of me. He was such a sweet, forgiving horse. Not a mean bone in his body. He took care of me.

Sorry this one's not getting much action, but I'll bite!

So I 'think' I have my dreamhorse now. I wasn't actually looking for another horse, I already had one horse, Magic, and thought of him as pretty near perfect! At the time I thought he might be my dreamhorse, the problem? I found that I enjoyed spending time w/ him more then I enjoyed riding him. I was afraid I'd lost my passion for riding.

So anyway I was 'window shopping' on the internet one day, something I do quite often, and I found her! Wow! But surely she's to far away and WAY out of my price range! Nope, only about 2 hours away, and the price wasn't bad at all, hadn't really 'planned' on spending anything on another horse, but I figured I could scrape together most of it! So after contacted the owner and getting all my questions answered I set up a time to meet her. It was love at first sight! She seemed to be everything I was looking for! So I made an offer and held my breath, and they accepted!

I was alittle concerned about her temperment at first, I noticed, even though the owner seemed crazy about her there didn't seem to be a real connection, Gypsy seemed somewhat oblivious to the owner. But there was no need to worry, Gypsy is awsome, and strangely she's Magic in mare form! Same awsome and silly temperment and personality (who knew there were two of them), and best of all I LOVE riding her! So I have a horse I can enjoy spending time w/ AND riding!
