I wear one. After a fall at a show not too long ago where I landed pretty much head first, smashed up the inside of my helmet and got up with a bit of a headache, I try not to ride without it.

When I have kids, they will wear a helmet until they are no longer living under my roof (if they ride!).

If someone is riding one of my horses, they don't get on without a helmet. They are riding my horse, so therefore they are my responsibility.

It other people choose to not ride in a helmet, then that's their choice. I would never belittle or berate anyone for choosing to not wear a helmet. I would expect the same courtesy in return.

I wear mine all the time, when I was younger sometimes I did and sometimes I didn't. I'm not bothered whether other people wear them or not unless they are on my horse. Then they wear one.
I ride in the bush a lot and I like that I can just put my face down and ride through branches without ending up with a scratched face/headache. I'm just glad that all of the times I've fallen and my head slammed into the ground were times I was wearing a helmet.

This conversation has been civil and intelligent.
Those are good things and no apology is needed. Shalom
I guess because several people complained that the subject was brought up again.

This thread has come up many, many times in the past and almost always with the conclusion.
It is purely a personal choice as to whether one wears a helmet or not. Neither side should condemn the other. It also does little good to try and bring one to your side who has no desire.
I personally will not get on a horse without a helmet nor will I drive a car without wearing a seat belt. They both offer a measure of protection should an accident occur.
Neither are fool proof, but the facts typically show that the good of their use far outweighs the bad. Easy decision for me, but it is still the choice of the rider.

That's all folks !
