The Maryland National Park Police (Montgomery and Prince George's Divisions) and the US Park Police are hosting the North American Police Equestrian Championships this year. The event will be held at the Montgomery County Farigrounds on September 29-30, 2012. Admission to the event is free to all.
Mounted police officers and their equine partners come from all across the US and Canada to compete in this prestigious competition which is hosted by a different community annually. The officers and their mounts compete and are recognized for the skills and communication they have developed with their equine partners.
This competition receives no federal, state or local government funding. All monies to run this event must come from the host community.
To be frank, raising funds has been very difficult and we are reaching out to the equestrian community for help so we can provide a quality event.
For $30. You can sponsor a mounted police horse thorough the Host A Horse Hero program. Details are available in the attached brochure and at www.napecinc.org. where you can sponsor online through PayPal. All 'hosts' will be listed in the November Equiery.
Please plan to join us for the event on September 29-30. Sunday is Families and Horses Day with special activities designed to promote horses and riding in the greater Washington, DC area.
Please help us make this a quality event for mounted police officers and their equine partners.
