Help me make this costume!

Going to a mini/pony show on Halloween, and of course there's a costume class ;)

I'm going to use one of my driving minis. The cart will be a boat, me a fisherman, and of course my horse will be a sea horse! LOL :)

My part is easy, the boat not too difficult (cardboard or posterboard (the kind with the foamy stuff in the middle), painted... but ideas welcome.

But the horse... HOW do I turn my mini into a sea horse? I will most likely use my solid chestnut, although my appy is a possibility (but I just got him home and I KNOW my chestnut will have no probs with a costume (he's used to it haha) so I want to use him).

You could attach some seashells to his harness to go with the whole ocean theme. And I remember seeing an ad for these products that have glitter in them like body spray, hoof polish, etc. I'm pretty sure they were called Twinkle Toes.I know a friend of mine had the little kids at her barn paint all the horses and ponies with some sort of paint that only lasted a few days,so maybe you could use some on him and make him look like a creature from the sea.

Haha I thought with the appy get glitter paint and paint his spots green and blue.. But with the chestnut get a skinny hood/body suit in whatever colour you like. Paint with a whole heap of glitter glue!! And staple strips of sparkley material and celefane to the side of the suit for fins. I would cut the strip of his mane on the hood and spike his mane STRAIGHT UP!! And put a tail bag on that's all colourful and shiny. That's how I would do it, hope it makes sense!! If it doesnt work make your chestnut NEMO!! Just put white strips of material around =D

Good luck its very creative!

Oh wow, that is insanely cute!!! Here's hoping you will post plenty of pictures!
Anyway, wow, it would be really hard to capture the concept of a seahorse...I'm just going to bounce off a few rough ideas as they come to mind, lol
I would definitely say it would be best to have him totally covered in all the same colour, with the little lines all over like they have...a full sleazy outfit and some paints would probably be a good way to go. And I hear Horseloverz is having a sale- if you don't already have them in a good colour...if they have mini sizes, I would think they would...and then just attach a piece of cardboard or similar to the top of the sheet, for the little fin they have on back...other than that, hmm..the legs would probably pose a problem....
What MAY possibly be a good idea would be to try to remove his legs and from the equation entirely. Perhaps they can be painted another colour (possibly to look like water?) and then draw the curled seahorse tail on his hindquarters? (with part of his hindquarters and side also becoming water)
It's a thought!

Here is a very lazy illustration of the general concept I have in mind- using the first side picture of a mini I came across on Google Images, lol
The drawn tail part is a bit of a mess, but you get the idea:

*Edit, aww, and I forgot the fin...but oh well, lol

Well I came up with another idea... wondering how to make him a seahorse... C horse! He will wear a blue cooler wtih a big white letter C on each side ROFL!!! :) I will get pics ;) Show is today! I get off work in 4 hours, head home to load up the horses and hit the road! Hubby made the boat yesterday, I haven't even seen it, other than the cut out of it!
