Help writing an essay on horse racing

So for my english class I am writing an essay on wether horse racing in good or bad but I can't find much information so please can you find website for the following information:

• Economic benefits of horse racing
• The number of horses killed/died or injured during training, racing or after a race.
• Impact on the horse both mentally and physically
• Cost of breeding/producing winners
• The nuumber of horses slaughted each year because they didn;t make the grade or where too old.
• Any other point to argue either for horse racing or against (I need some more points for)

I don't want personal opinions or to start any arguements I just need links with information to put into my essay.

Just a tip for writing such essays, try to always reference the source from which the information came from originally, so that you can be sure to be accurate I.e. Don't just reference this thread and use all the information from it. I have absolutely no problem with you using all the information but I would hate for you to take what I said for granted - always check your sources!!

Yep, they were from the Jockey club website.

I didn't mean to sound overbearing when I mentioned quoting the original source but a lot of the things I wrote are heavily coloured by my own opinion and experiences and I would hate for that to influence someone elses opinion!

There is another article that I used that you can find later in the thread (in the last couple of pages I think) that you may also find useful which was a study into the causes and frequency of injuries to racehorses.

Oh and one last word - I would be very careful NOT to use any material provided by animal rights websites. I am sure they have good intentions but the information is usually inaccurate and biased.

Look for good, factual sources from reputable publications and/or websites.
