Hobbles

I was wondering what type of hobbles would be best for my horses? I plan on putting them on my horses when they are in my back yard grazing so that they don't run off. Thanks for your help

Green Broke
I like to hobble train my horses. It's handy if they ever get something bad wrapped around their legs, and works great when I need to do something in our treeless country and their is absolutely nothing to tie to.

This is the kind I use in either nylon or leather. Don't bother with leather if you aren't going to be diligent about maintaining them. I know nothing about the site I'm linking, but it's a good photo.

I will caution that I've seen a few horses that can really run far and fast when hobbled. Looks funny. Catching them isn't, though!

I have 2 sets of hobbles. One is old set of leather ones, other is nylon with felt padding. I prefer the leather ones seem less bulky & clunky. I rarely use hobbles but think it is good if a horse is broke to them. Found them good if you are out on the trail & your at a rest stop & want to let your horse graze. Also Used them on my old stud when I'd let him out of his pen to graze on the lawn.He could cruise around pretty good in them Know some that have used them in breaking horses, hobbling for saddling etc. not my choice for that kinda thing but it worked for them..
