    home from the trainer[pictures]

So Muss came home from the trainer. I got out to the paddock and he had already tacked him up and was ready to get on and ride muss around at my aggistment. Sadly I couldnt get on coz I was wearing my work pants which give me -cough- wedgies whenever I sit down so I didnt even try to ride in them.
But I rode him the next day and he stood for the first time ever, didnt move around just stood there calmly. Theres been 100 percent change with him on the ground I even was confident rugging him by myself, brushing his tail which I havent been for months! And he just stood there, though I do admit he did let off gas when I was brushing his tail. Twice.
Anyway I rode him for about 5 minutes and stupidly I rode him in the tiny round yard which ended up meaning he fought me the whole 5 minutes. But boy did I get up him lol. I tried to get him to trot in the smaller yard I was in there for about 2 minutes I got him to trot once. Its so weird coz he used to go at the touch of my foot and now i'm going to have to figure what makes him go. But trainer could get him trotting easily and cantering ok. He still needs a bit of work on his cantering(trainer says-he steers like a truck) and we are trying to sell him to find something smaller and older for me but atm im trying to keep him in work until then, though its been raining the last 4 days
So anyways i've decided im going to start riding him in my english saddle again, i've had enough of the status stock its making me feel like im offbalance I've noticed perhaps that's because I've been riding in a western saddle and a fancy dressage saddle on my friends horses.
So atm we are trying to sell him if we can but the horse market on TB's isnt very good...actually its horrible so we may not sell him and if not he may just become a companion horse in my paddock until I get my confident on another horse...we'll see what happens.
Another awesome thing is muss has always been terrified of plastic bags and I mentioned it a few times to the trainer and he 'debagged' him. He said he should have had this done when he was a yearling and he had obviously never had it, he tied him up to a tree for a few hours and muss fought paced for several hours before finally realising it and had a snooze until he let him off. So now he basically has come back way more relaxed with different sounds, will stand when tied up and doesnt move unless someone stands in front of him at the gate, my mum went out and rugged him and she knows not much about horses but she put the rope on the gate and rugged him(she didnt tie him up doesnt know how to do many ties) and apparently the lead rope fell off the gate and he stood there and let her put his rain sheet off, didnt move a muscle which for him is amazing!
So I'm way happy about how he is on the ground atm, but riding...when its sunny and drier we will see what happens.
Also for his wintec ap saddle, apparently it puts pressure on his withers so he needs a riser for it, does anyone know a good site I could buy one from?
Anyways heres some pictures of him before the rain set in the day after he came home. I gave him a 3 minute brush including brushing his tail which I havent done for ages as I said ^^
I think he's looking pretty good, maybe im biased though. These were trying to do confo shots but he and I fail at getting his feet square lol and my boyfriend was taking the pictures...Also got a really snazzy new halter for him and leadrope coz he broke both of his at trainers, I gotta admit it really looks good on him!
Oh god guys, sorry for all the writing shock:

^ my boyfriend who has no idea about horses and Muss was so well behaved with him. He wrapped the lead rope around his hand while leading him and I was like eeekk! but he wants to learn to ride and really seems to like muss.

    Me and Muss.

So is this trainer going to help you work with him on the ground?

Yeh we have put him up for what we paid for him though we would sell him for a bit less...
If noone is interested then eventually we'd get another horse and keep him as a companion until I was confident enough to get back on him

Yeah I definitely feel that with some confidence training on your end, you'd be a lot happier with any horse that you got your hands on :)

Muss is a nice horse so it's no surprise that he's being inquired about :)

    Really good game plan, though.

    Thanks :)
Also I have a question, can you attach a breastplate to a all purpose wintec 2000?

If it has D rings, yeah you should be able to.

Going to google that saddle just to double check.

Edit: It doesn't have D rings.. I wonder if you could attach it to the billets? (Can someone confirm or deny this?)

I'm about 80% sure you can attach it to the first billet above where the girth straps in.
