Talking hopefully i can ride again !

So I broky my radius & fourth metacarpal [basically the bone of my ring finger that's in your hand] 8 weeks ago ! I've been hacking around on my pony scout now for about 4 weeks, but I havent been allowed to ride any other horses. Tomorrow at 7.45 am I get to go back & see my surgeon & get some new xrays to find out if I can ride again !! YAY I can't wait !!! So hopefully I will finally ride gypsy again tomorrow =]

On April 27th of this year I fell off of my horse and she stepped on my ankle. I broke every bone in my ankle, shattered my fibula, and tore every tendon and ligament. Needless to say, things looked bleak. I had a bone graft, a plate over 6 inches long, and 11 screws put in.
Sunday I got back on my horse and it was AWESOME!
My advice to you is wait. You have years to ride again, but if you keep hurting it your likely to be in pain for so much longer and maybe ruin the chance you had to ride.
I was off for almost 6 months and it was torture, but worth it because now I can ride and know I'm not going to hurt myself because I'm starting too early.
Good luck!!!!! I know how hard it is.

I was just proud of myself that I waited four weeks to get on my older guy =/ I was riding at least 4-5 horses a day when I broke my arm so it was a total shock & big change to my schedule ! I had a head injury a while back thank caused me to not be able to ride for 6 months, sure not doing that again !!

OUCH that sucks !!! I got lots of hardware too =/ I have plates & screw in my hand & arm. The plate in my arm is about half as long as my arm is. That's awesome that you get to ride again !!! =]

hahaha I tried to convince my PT that I could do WP, but she said the jarring would slow down the healing process & if I fell off I would be screwed !
