Horrible accident kills 30 horses

30 horses killed in tractor-trailer fire - Utica, NY - The Observer-Dispatch, Utica, New York

Sad. Really Sad. I am, however torn and perhaps this was better than making it to the plant? Poor things either way.

They were purchased at New Holland on Monday.

"The horses were being shipped from Shippensburg, Pa., to a rendering plant in Massueville, Quebec, police said.
That means that they were to be slaughtered out of the country.
How sad.

Green Broke
Can't imagine dying in a fire to be less painful than a kill pen.
Copperhead likes this.

Not sure, since many fire deaths are from smoke inhalation. I can assure you it was quicker than going all the rest of the way to the plant and the anxiety, etc......

Oh, how tragic. Poor things.
