Horse Books?

Alright, so I've been on a reading kick lately. I've read 3 books over spring break, and I'm in the middle of reading a 4th one. After that, I have 4 more waiting on me in my library. It's just been so cold, rainy, windy and just nasty looking outside, so I haven't gotten the will power to work with my horses much. Since I'm on a reading kick and don't have anything else to do, what horse books would you suggest I read? Genre doesn't matter.
Keep in mind that my 18th birthday is almost 2 months away, so please don't suggest that I read a series like Heartland, The Phantom Stallion, or The Saddle Club.
Thanks! :)

I have a hard time finding a horse book that is at my reading/age level. Most of the ones that I find are for 13 year olds, or younger. The last time I read a horse book was a couple of years ago, and it was called Shadow Horse. It was still a little under my reading level, but it was a good mystery book.

I find that I enjoy books that have a horse element, but not necessarily about hroses. I don't know what kind of books you like, but I enjoy Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. There are a number of books in the series. I think I made it to the 4th one in the series. Good books.

I read the first collection of these books a long time ago, but I loved The Golden Filly collection, by Lauraine Snelling. If you're a Christian horse lover, this series would be awesome. I always had the first collection in my backpack with me when I went to school. I gave up on trying to find the 2nd collection a while back, but I recently found it. So, I guess I'm going to read these. xD Any other suggestions would be highly appreciated! I'm always looking for a good horse book.

I read a book called "The Lady" by Anne McAffery, it was pretty adult! It is kinda a romance and has one or two "adult" scenes in it, but nothing too graphic. It is about a man who raises and shows horses, his daughter who loves horses, the mother who hates horses, and a woman that basically comes into their lives and makes everything better =) I enjoyed it buuuut you would have to do some research to see if it is up your alley =D

I found that as Im getting older I like horse books less and less. I read Chosen by a Horse. It had great reviews, but I hated it. Anyother horse book someone recommends I can't get very far into it with out putting it down and never picking it back up.
