Talking Horse Books That Every Horse Lover Needs

Over my many years of being obsessed with horses, I have come across a few priceless books that I feel are my all-time favorites... what are your favorite horsey books?

A-Z of Horse Diseases and Health Problems
By Tim Hawcroft

Anything and everything that could ever go wrong with your horse is in this book.

The Usborne Complete Book of Riding and Pony Care
This book is an awesome reference and has ALL the basics covered... no matter how experienced you are, there is something in this book for you.

Collins: Need To Know? Horse and Pony Care
This is pretty much a more advanced (but still basic) version of Usborne Riding and Pony Care.

Horse Crazy
By Jessie Haas

This girl knows what it's like to be a horse-crazy kid... and she's put facts, crafts, breed profiles, interviews and more into one adorable, informative book.

The book by Alois Podhajsky, about his experiences with the Spanish Riding School, and horses. It his story during WWII in the movie The Miracle of the White Stallions by Disney.

Books by Mark Rashid, Considering the Horse is 1st one, there are maybe 5 or more? Once he gets into martial arts he kind of lost me...

Hold Your Horses, by Helen Crabtree, about her years as a Saddlebred trainer.

Last of the Saddle Tramps.

Any books by Ben K. Green, even cow books are great.

Saddleseat Equitation by Helen Crabtree.

Adventures of the 700 Pony, and it's sequel.

Draft Power.

The Horses of Gentle Spirit.

Any of the Legends books by Western Horseman. And their book Horseman's Scrapbook.

Black Gold, King of the Wind, Black Beauty.

Seabiscuit.

The 80 dollar champion (book about Snowman).

Various books on disciplines, breeding, breeds, farms, ranches, vet books.

If it is animal related. It is one of my favorites.

Horses make me a better person.
