Horse Bundt Cake Treat!
I was unsure where to put this, so I decided upon this section.
Sometime back, I shared that I like to give my horse a snack that you can hang in their stall as a boredom eliminator.
I was asked to share the recipe, but a bunch of things came up.
So here it is!
2 cups sweet feed
2 cups bran
1 cup molasses
1 cup carrots chopped
1/2 cup applesauce
1/2 cup corn oil
1-1/2 cups water
1 alfalfa cube, crushed
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a bundt cake pan and set aside.
Mix ingredients (except alfalfa cube) in a large bowl. Slowly add more or less water until mixture is a stiff consistency. Press mixture into a bundt cake pan and bake for one hour. When cooled completely, dribble an additional 1/2 cup of corn oil over the top and sprinkle on the crushed alfalfa cube for a garnish. Remove, let cool completely and serve to several horses, or hang in your horse's stall.
This isn't meant for everyday use. More of like a birthday treat or Christmas treat.
You can put oatmeal into the mix, flax, barley, dried fruit, carrots, apples, mints. Whatever your horse likes. It's your decision, be creative! You don't have to use the Alfafa cube, if you don't want to.
You can even buy mini bundt cake pans and split the recipe up, if you don't want to give your horse the whole thing. I have split it up into ramakins and gave it to Timmy that way. He doesn't care, it take the same to him, either way. I will have to make it again for him, so I can show you guys a picture of the finished product.
Good luck and have fun with it. Your horse will love you afterwards.
