I was a bit confused by the name of this post at first haha.
That's nice of you, your horse is definitely lucky!
Basically anything with apples, oats, carrots and molasses works. The easiest thing I do is just take that mix, maybe add some sweet feed to it, chop the fruits and/ or veggies into small bits, mix with molasses and form into balls or wafers. You can either freeze or bake them on low for a few minutes. Not recommended for a horse with insulin issues, obviously. But they like them.
Also, these alfalfa based treats called berry bliss are amazing- my horse goes crazy over them. Not home made, I get them at the feed store but much easier than working with molasses in my opinion!
