Angry This horse does everything, and more! **RANT**

*Everyone* knows someone that is bombastic, it's just part of the horse world. I'm used it, but this one girl (I'll call her Kia) p*sses me off more then the others.

First reason she pisses me off:
There was a horse at my barn that was rescued at 3y/o and trained by my trainer (he's now 6years+). He's able to be ridden and worked with, but is still really spooky and nervous, and definitely not a beginners horse. His owner never goes to see him because she doesn't have the time, or confidence to do anything with him so he was just a floater at the stable. If you wanted to work him you could, if you didn't he stayed in the pasture. So Kia decides to take him to her stable at home so he's being worked and what not more, which is all good and fun because that's what he needed. She rode him a lot, and got really comfortable with him so she one day decided to get on him and show off by immediately asking for a canter the second her butt hit the seat. The horse bucks, she falls off, she doesn't touch him for a while, sends him to a kids camp for the summer. Now she is trying to sell him as a kids horse for 2500 even though the camp sent him back because he wasn't a kids horse (duh). Not to mention she's selling him as a draft/qh when he's a registered Suffix Punch, and NOT HER HORSE!!

Second reason she pisses me off:
She bought my friend's paint gelding, and is training him for dressage/jumping/xc. His "dressage" is rollkur (don't even get me started about how much I want to rip her off of him when she rides), his "jumping" is falling over the obstacle or refusing to go over it at all. I haven't seen their xc yet. He's up for sale for 3500, but "his price will go up with further training". Oh and did I mention he rears and flips over when you first get on? Yep, 3500 dollar material right there.

Third reason she pisses me off:

She bought a pregnant mare with hip problems that can only be ridden lightly. After the mare had the foal (still born) the mare's hips got worse because of the foal being delivered. Then she took it to a play day event and was running it! And she didn't understand why the mare was refusing to go in the ring after a few classes. She is also selling this horse for 1500.

Fourth reason she pisses me off:
She bought a grand pre Warmblood gelding from Canada that she can't even ride because she hasn't even competed or ridden even close to that level. He just sits in the pasture. He's a good horse, that she bought so she could say she owns a grand pre horse. He's just wasting away in that pasture when he could be winning dressage shows.

Rant over.

Sounds annoying...I'd just stay away from her. I know you don't want to hear this, but you'll run in to this type of person over and over in your life. If it's not with a horse, it will be with a car, or with a career. You just can't let them get to you, waste of energy because you can't change them.

How can she sell horse#1 if she doesn't own him?
There are worse fates a horse can suffer than being in a pasture. I'm sure he doesn't mind.
Gidget and VelvetsAB like this.

It is believe me! I do, but she goes to school with me, is friends with my best friend, goes to the same shows as me, and I see the horse's for sale ads online. I don't think it would bother me as much if I didn't know two of the horses personally. Like the Suffix Punch I used to ride a lot, and was actually going to bring to stay at my house but he can't be stalled and all my horses come in at night (rule).

Her dad is like her mom and her's slave, and he brings in a LOT of "moolah". LOL. When they got the Warmblood though they had to take out a second mortgage. Most of the horses she has though were fairly cheap. The Suffix Punch she just brought home and called her own, the paint gelding was about 600, and the mare with hip problems was about 500.

She technically can't but because his real owner never goes to see him or anything she won't know the difference, or that's what Kia thinks. And the owner won't sell him even for three times what he's worth even though she never sees him, people have tried.

IMO pasture pets should be either ponies or horses that are retired or can't be ridden for health reasons. I hate seeing a young (and well trained!) horse sitting in a pasture if it could be doing what it enjoys; in this situation the horse loved dressage, and he was amazing at it. When my instructor rode him he got all excited when he knew he was going to a show.

If you can't ride the horse, sell it and buy something that is at your level of riding. If someone on here said "I'm going to buy this grand pre warmblood because I have the money to, even though I'm only beginner novice" then everyone would be like "OMG NO!!!!".

Yep. People with more money than sense. Yep. Best to pretend they're invisible and mute and go about your day.

Haha yeah I live right down the road from someone who makes me SO MAD all the time... Her cousin boards her horse at her house. He's a 4? Year old Appaloosa, who is in a 2 acre pen by himself. He lives on a farm, so there are TONS of animals, and even a Llama, but they don't get along (; so he stays in the pen by himself. He gets 1 flake of Alfalfa per day, no matter what the weather, how much he's worked...etc. Right now he's getting 2-4 quarts of sweet feed per day, because I donated it to him lol. I felt so sorry for him, and it was left over from my horse...I switched him to Purina Strategy...anyways, this Appy doesn't get his shots, doesn't get de-wormed nearly as often as he should, he gets his hooves trimmed 2-3 times per year, he doesn't have ANY kind of shelter or trees in his pen and he's ridden 1-3 times per month. You can only imagine how bad his manners are...Yikes. I SO want to buy this horse and get him away from that situation...

So people aren't aloud to get frustrated at others, and get it off their chest? Good to know, it'll prevent me from posting anymore rant threads.
