What are some fun games to play on and off your horse with friends?? We're having a game day at the barn :) so far we have:

Water race
Ride a buck
Egg & spoon
Apple bob-(Race down to the bucket, dismount, grab an apple, mount & race back to the finish line)
Dizzy izzy (race to the end of the arena, dismount, spin on a baseball bat & run to the middle of the arena)
Red light, green light
String game (teams of 2 riders must hold the string & go around obstacles at the walk fastest time wins)

If you can think of any it would be greatly appreciated :))

I don't know what other thread to put it in..

How do you play a key hole race?
Its where there's a bucket of full water at one end of the arena and an empty one at the other and you get a cup for every full bucket of water and you're on your horse and who ever gets the empty bucket full first wins.

Dictionary Race. Its tougher than it sounds. You place dictionarys at one end of the ring and then someone will yell out a word. You have to run your horse down grab the dictionary, have your horse stand quietly while you find the word and yell out the definition then put the book back and run back. Its also great because you can learn a lot of great new words! (this is the teacher in me coming out lol)

key hole race:

I have never played myself (my horse has zero agility) but there is an arena with a start line at one end and at the other is an incomplete circle with a horse wide chute at one end (like an old key hole) marked in flour and the horse has to run down to the key hole as fast as possible stop in the circle and pivot/turn around in it without breaking the flour line and then run back to the start as fast as possible. A few seconds are added to anyone who breaks the line marking the boundary of the key hole and fastest time wins! It sounds really hard but fun and a good challenge

pool noodle polo!!!!

you take pool noodles and fashion polo sticks out of them, then set up two goals, and use a big beach ball. i got all my supplies at the dollar store, cheap and so much fun!!!!

we also did pool noodle jousting. white t-shirts with targets painted on them, pool noodles with the tips dipped in finger paints, run like your running to joust and whoever gets closes to the center in each match is the winner!! match the winners and you've got a tournament!!!
