Is horse insurance helpful? I have seen ads and I am wondering if it is something I should have or is it just a waist of money? Such as colic insurance, theft insurance, etc... I have aplied to a few places and some wont insure my horse since he is a rescue. One place has given me a quote of $450 a year. Some boarding facilities require insurance.

I have insurance, but it is liability/injury insurance, not about the value of my horse. I am insured for any injury to myself or any other person/property directly due to an accident I am involved in. A lot of barns/trail riding clubs around here require it. The cost is minimal, only $60 a yr cdn.
