Post Horse Questions

Some fun questions. Answer whatever ones you like. Just made it for fun. Answer them in a different colour and not bold.

So... first the easy ones that (hopefully) don't take any thinking about.

1) Where are you from?
2) Do you own/ part loan / loan / share a pony?
3) What is your riding style? English, western, driving?
4) Your favourite breed is?
5) Why is that our favourite breed?
6) Do you like.... (put an *X* by the side of the things you like)

Pleasure - Western
Driving
Jumping
Cross-country
Dressage - simple or experienced
Hacking

Now are the questions that might take a little more thinking about:

Your dream horse - (photo off google if you like, and a profile, CANNOT BE YOUR PONY, but I bet they are your dream horse. They can be similar though.

What do these sayings mean, are they true for you, or not?

a) Don't look a gift horse in the mouth
b) Noblest of the train that wait on man, the flight-performing horse

If someone said these things to you, what would you think and how would you reply?

"God, your horse is ugly!"
"Why do you even bother with those stupid animals, come shopping with us, don't waste your life on a creature."
"Wanna go riding?"
"You can sit around doing nothing or we can tack up and ride out!"

How long have you been riding for?
Do you have regular riding lessons?
Are you just coming off ponies?
Do you like to ride horses or ponies
Are you a happy hacker?
Are you more likely to fall off than stay on?

6) Do you like.... (put an *X* by the side of the things you like)

Pleasure - Western
Driving
Jumping X
Cross-country - Like but not done any yet, need to get better at jumping.
Dressage - simple or experienced - X
Hacking X

Now are the questions that might take a little more thinking about:

Your dream horse - (photo off google if you like, and a profile, CANNOT BE YOUR PONY, but I bet they are your dream horse. They can be similar though.

Appaloosa, :) Friendly, energetic, willing. Good gaits, general all rounder.

What do these sayings mean, are they true for you, or not?

a) Don't look a gift horse in the mouth - True. Every horse has something good about them. Just because he's not the champion horse you wanted doens't mean he's not great underneath.
b) Noblest of the train that wait on man, The horse! Horses have a mind of their own sometimes, they're living animals, I can't agree with the train part, no.
If someone said these things to you, what would you think and how would you reply?

"God, your horse is ugly!" "Theres no such thing as an ugly horse, he's good underneath. My nose (random, or something on the body) isn't perfect, does that make me a bad person?"
"Why do you even bother with those stupid animals, come shopping with us, don't waste your life on a creature." "My horse is more intelligent than the lot of you but together!" - lol.
"Wanna go riding?" "Sure!"
"You can sit around doing nothing or we can tack up and ride out!" "Okay!"

How long have you been riding for? Three years and a bit, methinks.
Do you have regular riding lessons? Yes.
Are you just coming off ponies? I have been on horses, but pony right now.
Do you like to ride horses or ponies? Don't mind.
Are you a happy hacker? Do a bit of hacking, bit of schooling, jumping and flatwork. Nothing very big. Haven't done any shows yet.
Are you more likely to fall off than stay on? No. I have fallen off before but the odds aren't like 100- 1 that I'll stay on.

I've never understood this one.
b) Noblest of the train that wait on man, the flight-performing horse
I've never heard of this one.
If someone said these things to you, what would you think and how would you reply?

I would probably tell them to back off.

Do you have regular riding lessons?
I used to, but due to money issues, I only have them every once in a while. But, I got another job so hopefully by May I'll be able to have regular ones.
Are you just coming off ponies?
No
Do you like to ride horses or ponies
Depends on the horse/pony.
Are you a happy hacker?
I don't understand
Are you more likely to fall off than stay on?
Depends on the situation, I can stay on a rearing horse or a bucking horse, but if it takes off, that's a different story
My answers are in black.

What do these sayings mean, are they true for you, or not?

a) Don't look a gift horse in the mouth no idea lol
b) Noblest of the train that wait on man, the flight-performing horselol??

If someone said these things to you, what would you think and how would you reply?

"God, your horse is ugly!" Well you're nothing special to look at either
"Why do you even bother with those stupid animals, come shopping with us, don't waste your life on a creature."Obviously i'd much rather spend time with a stupid, smelly animal than shop with you. Now what does that tell ya!?
"Wanna go riding?" Always
"You can sit around doing nothing or we can tack up and ride out!"Hell yes!

How long have you been riding for?roughly 10 years or so, though I spent alot of time working on the ground before ever getting into the saddle
Do you have regular riding lessons?Nope. I had some when I was a kid but learned mostly from experience, riding many different horses & spending alot of time around different people who owned, bred/worked with horses
Are you just coming off ponies?Never had one.. unless you count my QHXWelsh..
Do you like to ride horses or ponies Doesn't matter so long as it's not too short or so high that I can't get on without help lol!
Are you a happy hacker??? Yup lol
Are you more likely to fall off than stay on? Probably stay on but I've got no problem falling off lol I just get right back on! Again, learning from my mistakes.

Fun!

1) Where are you from? South East England
2) Do you own/ part loan / loan / share a pony? Yes, I own 2 horses
3) What is your riding style? English, western, driving? English
4) Your favourite breed is? So hard to choose! I love Fjords because they're so sweet and always seem gentle. Freisans are obviously beautiful and I think they're so majestic. But to own...I'm a cob addict. I find them to be intelligent, strong and reliable.
5) Why is that our favourite breed? Well I failed at picking just one but my reasons are pretty much above.
6) Do you like.... (put an *X* by the side of the things you like)

Pleasure - Western

Cross-country
Dressage - simple or experienced X

Now are the questions that might take a little more thinking about:

Your dream horse - (photo off google if you like, and a profile, CANNOT BE YOUR PONY, but I bet they are your dream horse. They can be similar though.

I can't put up a pic right now but it would probably be one of the breeds I mentioned already

What do these sayings mean, are they true for you, or not?

a) Don't look a gift horse in the mouth Hellz yeah. This is totally true unless you are an equine dentist ;) If you are lucky enough to have any horse or pony you should be happy!
b) Noblest of the train that wait on man, the flight-performing horse Haven't heard this before. It sounds good though? Lol

If someone said these things to you, what would you think and how would you reply?

"God, your horse is ugly!" :O Well first of all I would think that whoever said that was rather rude, and that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and to me my horses are the most beautiful in the world. In all honesty i'd probably say something like: "....and yet her bum is still prettier than your face"

"Why do you even bother with those stupid animals, come shopping with us, don't waste your life on a creature." Ha! Fools! I would feel sorry for them for their delusions and the fact that they have clearly never had the experience of a great gallop. I would tell them that I would rather waste my time on an animal that can make me laugh, give me companionship and carry me into the sunset for years to come than waste my MONEY on a load of useless crap that will fill up my house and get chucked out in a year or so.

"Wanna go riding?" "Why do you think i'm already on my horse?"

"You can sit around doing nothing or we can tack up and ride out!" "Fetch me my saddle!!!"

How long have you been riding for? 15 years
Do you have regular riding lessons? I have occasional lessons, but I also school by myself
Are you just coming off ponies? No, not really. I do have a pony though

Do you like to ride horses or ponies I like both but I prefer horses because I am quite tall and I find them more comfortable.

Are you a happy hacker? Yes I am!!

Are you more likely to fall off than stay on? I don't think so :S I've fallen off quite a lot but in three years of owning my (spooky) mare I've only come off her once, so I sit more than I fall!
