Horse Registries

As some of you may or may not now, Montana, my quarter horse, is supposed to be registered, yet I don't have his papers. His previous owner never got the papers, knew who had them and never got them. Oh well.
So I would like to registry him

Are there any registries out there that you do not need to know their dam/sire? Would it matter if I just picked any date for his birthday?

If I can't register him, it's no big deal, just thought I'd try.

If you know the name of the last registered owner, call the AQHA. They should be able to help.

I don't. I only know the name of the woman who owned him before me, but she didn't have the papers.
