horse rescue?

I would really like to rescue a horse... but I don't know where to look or how to do it. I don't just want one from an auction I want one that actually has no chance at life unless it is rescued. A horse that will take time and care.
Can anyone help me? I live in saskatchewan candada and it needs to come at least from canada.

Agree 100%. The foals that make it to Weyburn pretty much have a one way ticket punched. There's always CL too.

I am in MB and have rescued horses from MB and SK, so not understanding why , if you want to rescue a horse, you wouldn't go to an auction?? Confused here. Picking up a pregnant mare and her colt today from SK today in fact!

Remember, horses that are at a rescue have already BEEN rescued, they will be found a good home. Horses that are at an auction NEED to be rescued still, they don't have a chance other than the buyers.

Is it really a rescue if you buy it? No, that is a horse you purchased out of an auction.

A lot of horse rescues are over flowing, with no more room, so why not adopt a horse from a rescue, so they can make room for more horses?

If you outbid the meat buyer that's about as rescue as you can get unless you storm the processing plant and steal the next one in line...

Adopt one from rescue. There are literally hundreds out there needing help.

If it's going on meat truck or slowly going down in someone's backyard why not? You do pay donation to the rescue too. So money are involved no matter how you get the horse.
