    Horse Rollover

Metro - Twelve horses die in Deerfoot rollover

I know that this was already brought up before but I just wanted to say that I did get to see the horses that survived the horrific accident.

They horses are being borded at my old bosses/good friends house. They were all horses that had been sold at horse sales as meat horses and were on their way to the feedlot to be fattened up for slaughter. Most of the horses look pretty good and have minor cuts and scrapes. One gorgoues yearling filly is cut up pretty bad but should pull thru. All horses will be sent to slaughter/feed lot after all is said and done I'm pretty sure.

You would think something like this would bring awareness to slaughter and the condition of horses and the ones in need the most (as opposed to horses being well cared for that are for sale)

I would take a few if I had the space.

That would be so awfull to see or be around.

    Green Broke
Yes would be a bad thing to see. But it would probably be
Much kinder if they were hurt enough for the vet/s just to
Go ahead and put them down. As to get them able to travel
    Just to be slaughtered.

Maybe they were thinking to just get the alive horses out as soon as possible. I feel so bad for those guys that must have been so scary.

*sigh* if I could find somewhere cheap to board, I might be able to take one...

    That sounds so awful...

Wish I could get a trailer out to you guys. I could fit a 13th into my collection, eh?
