Horse Slaughter Petition

If anyone wants to talk some sense into the people who created this event on facebook, or at least open the eyes of those attending, this is a facebook event that is currently taking place at my local 4-day exhibition.

I can't post because its a small community and I don't want everyone jumping on my back as a horse-hater, but I am a firm believer in slaughter. I think at least someone should post an opposing view on here, so as not to allow the masses to believe that horse slaughter is the worst thing ever.

Kmac, if I can muster up enough energy, I'll try and wade in.

The endless slaughter debates get tiresome, especially when so many folks are hysterical and unwilling to listen to reason.

It's okay to disagree, but you have to admit that it does get old when people start accusing those not opposed to slaughter as being heartless, abusive, ignorant, neglectful asshats who have never had a special bond with an animal.

Kinda like the brainwashed Pepperoni-ites, come to think of it....

These people, and I believe they're goodhearted, not misinformed, have resulted to harassment tactics (from what I hear.. haven't mustered the courage to wander to this horse show) to get people to sign. And the sad thing is so many people are willing to accept a sad story then any other, so they're signing.

The first person to try and harass me at a public venue would get the rough side of my tongue.

Yeah.. I've never been the type to keep my tongue in my pocket so I will be commenting. I'll tell you what I write :)

Haha yeah Maggi, I'm proooo slaughter. I chock it up to people only usuing one side of their brain: they don't realize that "saving all da pwetty ponehs" just leads to them dying a rough death somewhere else.

It's not even that, Kmac, although that's a part of it.

People buying horses out of the kill pen aren't making an empty space on the slaughter bound trailer, because that space will be filled by another horse that someone didn't buy.

Instead of vilifying the kill buyers, why not rant about the owners who knowingly sold the horse at a KB auction in the first place?

Someone, somewhere dropped the ball on responsibility for their animal, and it wasn't the KB. Kill buyers are only the trash collectors. They're not the ones who put the horse out with the trash.

Until people take responsibility for their actions and STOP breeding crap, or taking on animals for which they can't or won't get the proper training, there will always be plenty of horses to fill those slaughter bound trailers.

Those horses had no choice in being born or improperly trained. It was some asshat human who decided to breed junk to junk, or cheap out on training.

I see it far too much on this and other boards. Someone gets a free horse or breeds one 'cause the stud fee was cheap, then decides they're going to train it themselves even though they have no formal training, and barely know the back end of a horse from the front.

Then they come on the boards boo-hooing, and saying the horse is rank and unmanageable. Yeah, because THEY SCREWED IT UP!

Gah! Just GAH!!!!!

And please don't get me started on the over production of TBs and QHs. That in itself is a travesty.

What really annoys me is people who argue about byb and how slaughter must occur bla bla bla........................
Then you look in breeding and you see there thread about wanting to breed there pony cause she looks nice.............................................. .............. SERIOUSLY PEOPLE
