Horse update!

Hey guys. I just wanted to give a little update on my saddlebred gelding. He's doing great and gaining weight slowly. I still haven't been able to get any good quality hay. And I've learned that I have to be picky about his hay especially. But I've been giving him soaked hay cubes. I give him about 10 lbs of hay cubes and 10 lbs of regular Bermuda hay. I put his flakes in a hay net so it hold him over until his evening feeding.
I noticed that he is drinking a lot less water. I assume it's because his hay is soaked so he's getting a lot of his water from that.
I still think he could stand to gain a lot more weight, but he's definitely not where he used to be. Vets say he will always be a slim horse as most saddlebreds are.
I'm also trying to put some muscle on him. Does anyone know any good exercises to build muscle?
He's super active. He always into something. He likes to chase ANYTHING (people, birds, the dog that lives nearby) and he jumps over pretty much anything. He jumps over his water trough which isn't even in his way lol. I've even had to raise the fence because I know sooner or later he'll think it's fun to jump that.

Now I just gotta try to post a photo on this new phone lol

Cantering large circles, trotting longer distances, walking up and down small hills, roll backs along a fence. Combinations of the above. Horses can be similar to people in that there are some that will remain lean though fit and well muscled and others that will bulk. Think ballet dancer vs body builder. Sounds like yours is more ballet dancer.
