I have noticed that most horse people are eccentric, but I like it that way. Posted via Mobile Device
On the spoiled and snobby note, a girl in the grade above me that boarded at my barn tried to start a horse club at our high school. It wasn't a "people that show club" or "people that own horses" or even a "people that ride" club- just a club for those that rode owned, thought horses were pretty, were interested in horse rescue, ANYTHING. The school (a small private school, mind you) wouldn't consider her request to start the club because they didn't want to say that the administration "supported recreational activities that were outside of the means of all the students". Sigh.

I don't know why but lots of horsemen or women are very calming at least the good ones. I am meaning when they talk to you...that's just my personal experience.

You obviously haven't been to the dressage barn where I boarded when I first got my horse
Now THAT could be a neurotic bunch of ladies! Nice enough, but you could get a headache just having a conversation with them! Not saying that all dressage people are like that (I'm into the discipline myself), AND I do enjoy being around horse people, but that was my first life around horses... crazy ladies!
