Hello!
I am looking for possibly some insight or opinions on owning horses strictly as pasture pets. I have owned several horses in the past and although I do enjoy riding, I'm finding that I get equally (if not more) pleasure from grooming and just generally caring for them without ever saddling up. I discovered that no matter who I worked with and what I was working on, riding was always a bit too stressful for me and I cared so much about all of the details it wasn't as relaxing an experience for me as I know it should have been...but I just can't not have them in my life! So I'm looking into the possible adoption of 2 rescue horses that are older, adoptable as companions only, and just letting them live out the rest of their lives in a nice, comfortable place with lots of love and attention. Does anyone else own horses strictly as backyard animals and not for any type of riding?
