When I was 2 1/2 years old, we moved to where we are now. The old owners no longer wanted Pumpkin so they gave him to us for no extras cost with the house. I think he was only 5 then.

There is one principle that should never be abandoned, namely, that the rider must first learn to control himself before he can control his horse. This is the basic, most important principle to be preserved in equitation - Alois Podhajsky

I outgrew my pony Bailey, and gave him to my lesson barn in exchange for training and helping me find a horse.
After 128749817 hours of looking I tried out two horses, one who bucked every canter stride and wasn't very nice...and the other one I couldn't get to canter but had the sweetest personality.
Haha guess which on Remington was!

I got my first horse as a birthday present when I was a young teenager. She was a bay arab/qh. She was really quite a spooky horse.

I remember being on a vacation on Mallorca with my dad back in 2003. I got a text from my mom telling me that our mare Skeifa had given birth to a beautiful little gray colt and that they had named him Seifur. I was so excited to come back home and get to see him,I thought he was the cutest little foal ever. Now he's just a big brown, stubborn pony lol, but I love him anyway

i have a friend who shows hunters with her 3 horses that she got from a H/J barn in minnesota. her horses are really really nice and when she found out i was looking she told me i should go up there and see their relatives who were being trained by the lady my sister used to ride for. so i went up there but they were all WAY out of my price range (like $25,000 above my price range) keep in mind these were 3 and 4 yos who could w/t/c jump xrails and do lead changes. so then i went up to the breeder in north dakota and saw about 40 horses. gypsy was the first one i saw and i totally fell in love with her and her personality ! and she passed the vet and was in my price range ! i bought her as a 3yo who knew how to tie and sort of how to lead, although not well, she would get away a lot. shes a perfect girl for me, we love eachother !!

I met Sunny on the internet.

I had just sold my Quarab mare because I wanted to jump and she loved barrels, so we weren't exactly meshing. I set out on my search for a young hunter prospect, and I found "Sunkist," a long yearling TB. I fell in love instantly. I bought her sight unseen, picked her up the first day I saw her: December 5th, 2009. She is now rising three and doing well, and I love her to bits.

Never mind my old post... I got my old mare BlÝ when I was on a long trip in Eyjafjord. We stopped at a farm and traded one of our mares and got BlÝ instead. I think I was about 8 years old. Anyways, at the time I had no idea that this mare was going to be my best friend. She'd always walk up to me (and without invading my space) when I came to see her. I could ride her alone on trail rides with no problem. Her trot was soooo smooth and she gaited easily. Then when I was 16 I went away for school and when I came back my parents had given her away to some guy and his kids... I am still angry at my parents for giving away the only horse I have ever trusted with my life. I don't think I'll ever get to see her again :(

Our piebald Charlie died around 2 years ago, my dad bought a TB and brought her on, we will probably be selling her in the future. But we found her on an ad on the net and the same with our new cob Su. Took an hour and a half to get to Su and an hour for Foxy. Ad trader I believe we found them both on. :)

Well, I spent a long time looking for Gizmo. My first horse was a Standardbred Mare and she ended up not working out. Then I got a Lippit Morgan mare and had her for a while. But she wasn't a horse that could be alone she started to get really mean and one day she bit and kicked me really hard so I sold her to a person that kept her at a big stable with plenty of horses. Then I didn't have a horse for a long time. I had started High School and was doing sports and such. I was going to go to college for Equine Studies, but didn't get enough scholarship money to go. So my parents said I could have a horse again because I couldn't go. At the time I was working on a small farm that trained Mustangs. I learned a lot about training and the lady that owned the place said that I had a connection with one horse named RJ, so I bought RJ and got him for pretty cheap considering. But she was supposed to finish his training and she didn't so I was stuck with a horse that I couldn't ride and no money for a trainer. So I put RJ up for sale and was going to use the money to buy a new horse, one that I could actually ride. I started searching on GL and found a horse for sale right in my town (which is really small so it was actually surprising, especially because I know everyone). So I looked at the ad and figured out that it was my old friend, but I dismissed it because it was way... out of my budget. She wanted $1500 for him at first and I was also turned away because he had moon blindness in one eye and I figured she was selling because it would spread to his other eye.
So I kept looking. I went all the way to Maine to look at this horse that wasn't even what they said it was. I was looking at a couple of more but I saw that my friend had dropped the price on him down to $1250. So I thought I would just email her and we could go riding or something. I didn't think that I was going to like him at all.
So I got there and there was this HUGE horse with a long golden mane and he was such a love bug. So we saddled up, and ironically the saddle that I bought fight him like a glove with his monster withers. (Which didn't fit my Mustang). So I lucked out on that. So we went for a two hour ride and he was perfect! I really like the way her rode and how calm he was and his eye didn't bother him at all.
When we got back I asked her if he would be good by himself and she said he would like it that way, all the horses bullied him, even the Shetland pony. I asked about his eye spreading and she said the vet had said it wasn't spreading so far. So everything was good. I DID NOT expect to like him at all. I was just going over to ride! But I looked at those big old eyes and I was in love. So I started making payments on him and sold RJ and now I owe her just 100 more dollars and he is "officially" mine, money wise anyways.

I actually won my horse in a raffle! haha She was donated by a local breeder for a girl that had a disease and I bought 65 dollars worth of tickets. Shes a sweet heart and actually not a bad looking horse. Shes got Doc Bar in her bloodlines too. And a registered QH
