how do i turn a cow barn into an indoor arena?

Hi, I just wondered if anyone could give me some advice about arenas? I have the possibility of turning a cow barn with concrete flooring into an arena and would like to know firstly if the concrete floor would be a problem for drainage and secondly what type of surface do you recommend. I was thinking sand surface and installing a sprinkler system for dampening it. Any pros/cons of different surfaces? Thank you

I would use leather in an indoor ring.

Leather? I haven't heard of that. Can you tell me abit more about it? Does it need sand as a base? I don't have any experience with arenas and i'm trying to research different materials. Do I need to factor drainage issues with it being indoor?
