I can't explain to non-horse folks why I would rather ride than go shopping, or how cleaning stalls after a bad day relaxes me. Why it is horse poo isn't as dirty as other kinds of poo. Why I'm ok that my world revolves around trimming, feeding, worming schedules, & cleaning stalls.
I don't think of my horses as my children, but they are definitely a huge part of my life.
I have no idea how I could explain to someone who doesn't ride what it feels like when you and your horse are in the zone. How giddy you get when that 1000 lbs animal is so in sync with you that all you have to do is think about what you want & they do it? My God most people can't even communicate that well with words, spreadsheets, and a slide show.
I feel very privledged to be able to own the 2 horses I have, & truely cherish my time with them.
A bad day with my horse is better than a good day at the office.
