How do you make time for riding?

Hi I am a teenager, I am in school and always has homework or tests to study for or something. Plus I also play volleyball which starts in March. School season is just so busy for me, but in the summer my life revolves around my horses. I get out to see my horses atlease 2-3 times a week but I never have time to ride...
I am always out there doing my barn chorse or cleaning pens (that's how I work off part of my board) and then I also have a job at another barn that I go to once and a wile to help out when they are gone ( that's how I pay for the rest of my board)

So, how do YOU find time to ride?
I have rode for 2 monthes! It's killing me!!

Right now it's soo hard to make time but generally I go out on wednesdays and saturdays. I know how you feel though its very hard to make time but thankfully I can incorporate my boy into my lessons occasionally or even some of the barn chores. If you possible set up one specific day where you go out do your chores and then ride, it is possible, where I ride we usually do 1 -2 pens (ours and another) then whatever other little chores pop up then we ride and that is after school 3-5.

Well right now riding is my life, so the only thing I could complain about is that I have no social life, but I don't actually mind that. :P

Anyways, the only reason I had the time to ride and work at the barn 4-5 days a week was because I was home schooled.

I have school, a job (21 hours a week) and have to make time for our fillies xD I usually leave the barn at about 10pm or so because then I have time with her. I just don't see my family and friends much!

You just shove it in there. I can get a lot done in half an hour. I do my homework late at night. Maybe you could do your homework on break and then have after school to ride?

I am a full time college student who works 38 hours a week I have made sure that every Friday I go see my horses. I have a very reasonable boss who gives me Fridays off and I worked out my classes to where my last class gets out at noon. You just need to set a schedule and stick to it! Tell your friends, your boyfriend, and parents that on blank day of the week you are going to be with yours horses. I was the same as you heartbroken and missing my ponies! Just start slow and work your way up =)

You just make time.

Many horse people don't have secondary hobbies, like your volleyball, and many don't really get a lot of time to see friends outside of horses/school.

Otherwise you could try to compress things. Like if you help out for two hours three days a week at a barn why don't you try helping out for three hours two days a week? That way you have one spare day.

If you're not riding often then maybe you can downgrade your boarding, if you're stabling keep him in a paddock, or move to a boarding place that is cheaper with less facilities. Or one that is closer so you can go in spare minutes.

It might be boring and hard, but you can get a lot of school work done in lunch if you choose to do that instead of hanging with friends, or finish class work quickly (no talking) and do it then.

It's all about what to choose to do with your time.
