I went about.. oh, 14 hours round trip. Left at 4:00pm after school and didn't get back until about 30 mins before the bus got to my house. :b
It was awful, but I'd do it again.
Oh, and this was for a pony that I bought sight unseen.. needless to say she is perfect. <3

We've gone the farthest to try an eventer in Maryland that we ended up not buying. Of our horses, we went the furthest for Lenox, who was in southeast PA.

My Arabs are from my uncle's ranch in CO, but we had a transport company bring them.

As far as I need to. Luckily I don't live very far from a lot of well known trainers in the country who always have horses for sale, or know someone who does

The furthest I have travelled was 5 hours. I drove to look at her and try her out, but the seller delivered her to me as she was going to a barrel race and had to travel through the city that I lived in to get there.

11 hour round trip out of state. I only look in neighboring states though.

Not everyone has the ability to travel far, but if it's for the right horse why not

Last horse I bought myself, I went from Birmingham, Alabama, to Northern Kentucky to get him. He was a spotted saddle/TWH. I'm looking at horses much closer this time b/c I don't have the time to go all over the country to retrieve a horse like I did before... so one I'm looking at is an hour away, another is about 30 min, etc etc..

I've bought horses in Minesota, South Dakota, and California. Always had them hailed up, though. Except the Minnesota horse. That was a three day trip.
