Hi! I'm looking into selling my horse and i want your opinion on how much my horse is worth in the market today. I have a 9 year old pinto/paint gelding. He is black and white and stands 15.3hh. He would make an excellent youth horse. He has been shown in walk trot and 13-under competitively in the pinto circuit and 4-H the past 5 years. Last year he was taken to the Pinto World Show. He received top five and top ten placings. He is a true all around. This gelding never spooks and is dead broke. Please give me your opinion on how much he's worth!
He shows in english and western pleasure classes, hunter under saddle, showmanship, equitation, horsemanship, trail, basically you name it and he can do it! At th pinto worlds he got 10th in english pleasure, 8th in english equation (pattern class), and 3rd in english showmanship. He was also a finalist in western showmanship. (all 13-under division). We did not show western at this show for financial reasons. There was very stiff competition with many horses in full time training. ($50,000 horses were winning) He is completely sound (never limped or anything). At 4-H shows he cannot be beaten. Hope this helps!
It depends on your area because in some places the horses aren't worth much at all, other places you can easily sell a horse for several thousand.
Go on some horse websites (Horseclicks, Equinenow, etc), and see what horses with similar training and skills are going for. If you try to sell him for $20k and horses like that are only going for $10k in your area, you're going to have a hard time selling him.
There is not POSSIBLY a way we can make an assessment of him without some visual guides. Do you have conformation pictures, and videos of him under saddle? Right now, he could be worth $1000 to $30,000. Is he registered?
The horse has to be registered to be showed at the level the owner is showing her at...
I would say 10k she sounds like a horse I would be interested in but I am far away.
Also, how big is the pinto world? I know the AQHA world is huge and just making finalist is a huge accomplishment, and upps your horse's worth some. Making top ten is even higher, top 5 even higher, top three even HIGHER, Reserve world champion HUUGE, and being a world champion completely skyrockets your horses worth to an amazing extent. I'm pretty sure being an APHA world champion is pretty huge too, but then again, i don't show paints or have anything to do with them. I just know some of the world champions that would do equally as well in the AQHA world
Pinto worlds is pretty big. But definetly not as big as AQHA...at pinto world we get alot of the really good paint people who come as a warm up for paint worlds!
