I Am So Proud Of Myself!!

So every since I had back surgery a year ago, I haven't really been riding regularly, only maybe 2-3 days a week, and I would take a week off here and there. Well for the past 2 months I've really forced myself to ride at least 5 days a week, and I've felt a difference, I feel more toned and my legs have definitely gotten stronger.

Well today my new fitness was put to the test. First of all It was ridiculously windy out today. I decided that since I gave amber a hard workout yesterday, I would just get on her bareback today and walk around the indoor for awhile.

Well the wind caught one of the doors in the indoor and slammed it! Making a huge loud BANG! Well naturally amber freaked out, she was facing away from the door and Im sure she thought something was coming to get her, lol. She took off kind of forward and sideways at once and did a spin worthy of a world class reiner, then bucked.

A couple months ago I would have been off in the dirt, but today I stayed on, and stayed on rather easily! I was just so proud of myself!!

Congrats on staying on!!! I'm sure it was a real adventure. Just be careful with your back. I'm sure you don't want to end up having to have surgery again. My hubby's father has had to have a few surgeries on his back and neck...very painful!!

I'm jealous...I wish I had the time and weather to ride 2 - 3 days a week!!!

Whoot ! Good for you! :) I love when I have accomplishments such as that.

Horses and children, I often think, have a lot of the good sense there is in the world.

you go girl! It sounds like you are having lots of success lately, both with Amber and yourself personally. These things build on one another, so keep it up. You have lots of cause to be proud of yourself- well done!
