Yearling
I broke my crop stick riding today.

It's a relatively old crop stick. It's been used consistently by me and my mom a lot. My horse has received a fair share of cracks with it. My mom has a bad habit of repeatedly slapping him (not very hard, but repeatedly) on the neck with it when she's nervous, and I give him 1-2 forceful thwaps with it when he won't move on, and then I'm done with it.

Yeah so the crop snapped today when I whacked my horse with it, I wasn't paying attention to where I was hitting so I think I got the saddle a bit. I'm not a very strong girl so I was kind of taken aback when I saw the snapped crop.

Please tell me this has happened to someone else! I feel kind of crappy, like I was beating my horse profusely or something even though I wasn't! D; and my mom is like "omg our crop broke?! Were you beating the horse?!" Like no I wasn't, he wasn't moving off my leg so I gave him a giant thwap to get my point across, no different to the thwaps my instructor tells me to give during my lessons when he's being the same way. And the crop was used for a whole year.

Anyone else break a crop? I feel pretty bad mainly because I'm not very strong at all (wicked weak upper body). Argh!
