I don't know which is more pathetic.....

I was trying to 'sneak out' of the house this morning without being caught by the horse. I had been doing her morning feeds, and she has gotten in the habit of meeting me at the fence when I go out the back door. I was running late this morning and was going to leave the feed to Katy to do - but didn't want to disappoint the horse (yes, pathetic, I know), so I went out the front. That is pathetic enough on it's own, but even better is that when she "caught" me just as I had gotten in my truck and came to the fence giving me her puppy-dog eyes, I got out and picked a bunch of fresh green grass from the "good" side of the fence to hand feed her. She has me wrapped around her little, er, hoof.

oo I have a similar story. I have to pet Rocky last before I leave the barn. If I pet another horse and then make to get in my car and leave, he'll run to the fence and stare at me with a hurt expression....and of course, i'm a bleeding heart when it comes to my horse so i'm always careful to pet him last before I leave.

LOL, that's hilarious! I think we all do it though.... it takes me forever to get out of the pasture sometimes! I pet one... then the other give me the "look" (*what you don't love me?*) so I pet that one... then the other comes up and nudges me.... so on and so forth. My boyfriend thinks I don't come over until late because I'm busy doing chores and working... I don't have the heart to tell him that I get stuck in the pasture petting horses!

Too funny - you can't have one thinking you don't love him/her as much as the other's, right? Thank goodness we only have the one (for now, lol)

Haha, I have the same problem. I'll scratch on Dobe, then here comes Denny, and Koda, and John, and Flash, and Flipper, and Tiny, and Olen. Then I go past the other pen on the way to the house and I HAVE to go in and scratch on Rafe. Then before I know it, Bessie, Pokey, Prissy, and Nester have me surrounded. LOL. It will ususally take me at least an extra half hour to get to the house than I intended.

It is amazing how quickly we become slaves to those eyes.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/

That's so cute. XD Amazing how horses do that to you.

If I ride/groom Norman one day and not Victor, Vic gets extremely jealous. His stall is adjacent to the indoor arena, so he stares at us over his stall with this betrayed look on his face. I rode past him on Norman and he was staring daggers at me. He laid his ears back and narrowed his eyes as if to say, "How dare you..."

Then I have to love on him and give him cookies to be in his good graces again... And he never wants to be ridden when it's his turn, either, so he's impossible to please. I have to hug and kiss my boys before I leave too, otherwise I feel bad and it bugs me until next time I see them.
