I dont know what to do:(

So.....Jeannie is being put down this Friday and I don't know what to do with myself. I can't believe in just a few days she will be gone. Tomorrow may be my last day with her and I have no idea what to do with her during that time because when I leave that is the last I will see her. I just want to curl up in a ball and never come out.

I'm so sorry. I don't know what to say, that must be a terrible feeling :(. At least now she will be safe and out of pain. She has led a long and fulfilled life with many people that loved her. God bless :(

Thank you. I have never personally lost a horse I was really close with. I was making a memorial video of her and it really got me thinking on how much I will miss her.

My eyes are getting teary. This sort of thing is really hard. I can't imagine facing the same thing with a horse I have known and loved.

It's hard, but it's for the best. You'll always have fond memories. Greiving is tough, but don't let yourself fall into any self-guilt traps. When my grandmother died recently, I didn't cry a whole ton and I felt like I was being insensitive because of it... but we all have different responses, different ways of grieving those we have loved and lost. There is no doubting that I loved my grandmother very much, and the amount that I cry does not gauge this.

I know how you feel hun. I had a old mare when I was ten. She was everything in my life. Nothing had mattered to me but her. She took good care of me too. We was perfect.
She died that year.
I know what your going through. Its very hard. Spend as much time as you can with her. I sadly couldnt spend time like you can with my mare.. Sarah.
Spend all the time you can, make sure she knows you love her.
She will always be in your heart. Always watching over you. Your guardian angel. I know Sarah is mine.
Remember. She is always with you. No matter what.

Great post. When a horse is put down they never are gone. In body they have passed on but I truly believe that animals stick around and watch over you. That bond never goes away regardless of what happens. I had to put down a horse a few years ago and I honestly think he's still around. Be strong and keep smiling. Your little horse had a fantastic life with you and is going to continue so once she passes. As I always say it's not death but marely a change of worlds.

Thank You everyone. I went out today and I groomed her for a long time gave her tons of carrots, and when I put her to bed I sat in her stall for a bit and told her how much I love her and how I will see her again. It wasnt until this time that I began crying, uncontrolably so I left and cried all the way home. I might go back out tonite before I go back to school to say a final goodbye. I hope she has an easy and painless passing. I will post her video tomorrow
