Just talk to her. It sounds like when she made the decision that you didn't care as much. Perhaps it was a "I don't want to pay if they're not being used" situation. Perhaps if you tell her how you feel she'll be open to keeping Bear, or waiting longer.

Talking is always good, and if she says no then that is the way it is, but at least you tried.

I'd lay odds that your mother either doesn't have the funds to continue to pay for these horses, or doesn't wish to. Either way, unless you can come up with a way to pay completely for this horse's board, feeding, farrier and vet care on your own, it really is unfair to ask your mother to continue to do it.

Adults sometimes have to make hard decisions that kids don't understand. You're seeing this from only your own point of view. What's your mother's story on why she wants/needs the horses sold?
I agree with this.

Some times parents have to make decisions that are based on the needs of the whole families versus the wants of some.

Thank you so much for all the great advice everyone. I have decided that it really isn't fair for me to ask her to pay for Bear any longer then I already have. I'm just happy I got to spend the time with him that I have gotten. I love this horse with all my heart and though I do not think it is best for him or I to part ways, it is best for my family.

Thank you so much for talking me through this, I don't know what I would do without you, Horseforum.

You can never take a Thoroughbred away from a horse crazy girl.

Sometimes we do things that give us pain for the good of those around us.

That's just a part of growing up, eventer.

The right horse at the right time will come along. I promise.
