I feel like a dork now!

I was reading another thread and someone said something like "it's those barefoot and bitless people who'll give you dirty looks" (or something like that, that's not a direct quote) and I realized that I'm a bitless and barefoot person!
I mean, I'm not one of "those" bitless and barefoot people who hate everyone who uses bits and shoes, but I sure look like one if you just saw me with my horse and didn't know me!

This is bad news bears. I mean, I really could care less about what people think of me but I didn't want to come across like a fanatic, especially since I come across as aloof a lot of the time because I'm shy.

I'm not going to worry about it but I thought it was funny, since I always kinda laugh inside about "those" people (the fanatics). I'm such a kinda accidental hypocrite.

So, is anybody else a hypocrite? Heehee

Tehehe was that on the 'natural dressage' thread? Yaaaaaa..... I said that XD well the thing is im completely fine with them, heck I love riding bridless and stuff, its only when those people give other riders heck for riding in a bridle that I don't like them, but theres dressage people that are crazy and witchy XD stereotypes can be so bad sometimes

    Lol, that is funny. ;)

I don't think I'm much of a hyprocrite as I don't seem to fit into any of the stereotypes. I just do whatever is best for my horse, and I know that you do the same.
It's just the extreme people that make a bad name for us, like ridergirl said. All it takes is one person doing rolkur with their horse and suddenly dressage doesn't look so appealing. Or some NH fanatic accidentally giving the wrong advice. Or a barrel racer using a tie down as a quick fix. So yeah, I don't know where I was going with that. =P I guess I was saying that people often assume about different types of riding, stereotyping them, when they've only met one extreme example.
I know that if you look deeper, you'll find that there really are good horsepeople in this world. You just have to get through the mess of bad ones first.
