I feel rich!!

Yesterday we filled our barn with hay, so for my two babies I have 60 bales stocked up!! Hubby thought it was funny that I said I felt rich, but it makes me feel so good knowing it's there for them.
Last week we got a new horse. Denise, a member here and a friend of mine, brought her Red to live with us as our lifestyle suits his needs (arena work and dressage vs miles of trails). He has settled in so well, even been to the barn for a lesson with the girl child.
Flicka is doing well, I'm riding her myself now, daughter just couldn't get past her fear of her (the fact that she's young). So with our trainer we will get her to be as fabulous a ride as she is on the ground, she's such a willing sweetheart. She did get a spook and drop me on my head, but that's because our dog decided it was fun to pounce her (-which got him pounced by me)
All of her nasal (snotty nose) issues are gone- the IV gentocin did the trick.
I'm on my phone so can't load pics....but there are some on my blog from this week. Www.cakeskidsandalens.blogspot.com

Ooh, and I forgot to mention hubby put up the beginnings of my two stall barn this week. It's a process, we started with a 26x16 pole shed, now we will build the stalls. They love it and have been under it day and night since the roof went on.

Horses are my weakness, I could spend any amount of money on them. I'll spend my paychecks on them if I'm not careful! ;p

Well, they are my weakness, and I my husbands weakness, so....
But, I will say, we picked up hay from behind the baler for $4 a bale for Alicia Bermuda, which is $3 cheaper a bale than the last I got for the same quality!

Cakemom, I can relate to feeling rich when the barn if full to busting with hay. I also have that feeling when the freezer is full, and I've bought new underwear! LOL!

Like many, I gladly buy my two horses what they need, and have no problem putting stuff I need on hold! I guess owning/loving horses is both a blessing and a curse.

Very true! Odd I said to my hunny last night that it was like having a full freezer! Yes, I gladly put aside me for them.
