I fell off

Welp, it happened today, I fell off of Fritz today. We were at the end of our lesson, I had taken my feet out of the stirrups, and was juuuuuuuuust getting super comfortable, my legs were relaxed, I dropped my shoulders, my arms were relaxed and I was starting to feel real good about the lesson I just had.

We started trotting the last lesson I had, and this lesson was just a continuation of the last. I was doing sooooo good!!! I was gaining more and more confidence in myself, and was starting to relax on Fritz, over all I was super proud of myself, and Fritz too! He had even started picking up on a few vocal cues I was giving, well I dunno if it was that, or if a double click meant trot. Lol.

Anyway, just was I was rounding the last corner of the arena, my instructor went into a stall to start mucking it out, she popped her head out of the stall and dumped the water bucket. That's when Fritz went one way, and I went the other.

I landed on my right hip, and right side. It knocked the wind out of me, I was so worried about Fritz coming back at me, but as I looked up, I saw him trotting off in the other direction. Lol. OoOOOoh Fritzy.

Over all it was a good lesson. I told my instructor that I didnt blame Fritz, that I blamed her.

Aww ((hugs))

I'm sorry you fell off after a good lesson.

Everyone falls off at some point.
I hope you're ok and not in pain!

Don't let this little oops spoil your taste for riding!

LOL - You got your first fall over and done with! And... next time, you'll react and won't come off when the horse spooks. The more you fall, the more you learn! I'm proud of ya!

Thanks everyone, I'll walk away with this experience with a bruised rib, other than that, my hip will be sore for awhile. After I told my instructor about my rolling a 4-wheeler on top of me, and then rolling my truck, she didnt feel as bad for me lol.

Falling off wasnt as bad as I thought it was going to be. I've been stepped on, and now I have fallen off, now all I need to do is get kicked. Lol. Goodness, Im not wishin for that any time soon!

Sorry to hear you fell off, but I'm glad you're okay! Usually the fear of falling off is worse than the fall itself. It can sure shake a person's confidence though.
