I fell off... and then again, and again and again.

I ride my friend's Arab most of the time. He's a good boy, kinda fat, a bit lazy, and he expects me to actually ride, which works out fine most of the time. Well, we've been working on my two point and going over trot poles and maybe six inch "crossrails." (I use quotes because there's not much to cross there!)

Yesterday he decided he could just trot over everything rather than jumping, so we moved it up a bit. I think it messed with my head! All of the sudden I was all over the place, and he's not gonna save me. There was the time he stumbled twice and I went off sideways flat on my back. OUCH! Then there was the time I asked and he gave, but I wasn't actually prepared. Then there was a dead stop and he spun away while I kept going.

Then today I rode this QH mare who needs a bit of work. Just a little trail ride, right? No big deal, right? Well, out in the harvested field a quail flies up, she spins and then crowhops repeatedly. I basically pulled myself off I think... the one-rein stop wasn't working so well for me with a halter and lead rope and completely unwilling to flex.

Yeah. Let's hope I'm done with the falling for a while- back to working on my form perhaps!

Oh my goodness you've had a rough couple of days! Seems like bad luck =P
No, but this has happened to me, and I'm sure many riders out there lol.

I say, take a week off to gain your "luck" back, haha, then get back on as if it never happened!

Don't you just love falling =P

Yes, you're right- I'm taking a couple days off to rest up and settle down, then I'll be back at it. Maybe work on my 'dressage' a little bit to get our communication and working together back together before doing anything more exciting for a bit. :)

It never rains but it pours, right? Two years, two falls. Then four in two days!

I hate that! it seems like that is the way it go's though. You don't fall off for months, years even and then boom, you come off over and over again! And you think... will it ever stop???
