Oh I couldn't agree more! lol.
And besides that I would definitely not want to be giving ANY money to a breeder who let a 10 month old get preggers! ewie!

So yeah, I am kinda excited. Not quite sold on it yet, because, like I said, I am still grieving my other horse, but who knows

Oh and here are a couple of videos of my filly/mare.So you can see what I mean by comparable to the little champagne filly.

This one is when she was about the age of the champagne filly.

And this one was taken 3 weeks before she died. She was almost 5 at this point.

If you don't mind me asking, what happened to her that she passed away so young?

Freak accident. I wish I could tell you what happened. All I know is that I left a healthy happy horse at around 6 PM on the 23rd of March, and was called back at around 7 PM by the trainer saying my horse hurt herself and to come out quick. Got there, vet came and prognosis didnt look good. She literally tore her hoof in half. It was split from the frog in the back, all the way around the ouside, and then split the hoof wall in the front. Both my fiance and I looked and looked and looked to see what she hurt herself on, couldnt find anything.

At around 8 PM, I took her to University of Illinois in Urbana Champaign (it was a 2 hour drive) and the vet there told me that the prognosis was terrible. i had them put her under gen. anesthesia and take a closer look to make sure she couldnt be saved, but it was hopeless. She tore her tendon, all her soft tissue, and severed the joint in her foot :( Her navicular bones were no longer supported, and the cut was down to the bone. It was like you could literally peel her foot open and look at the bone. The only thing still connected was the bottom of the foot, the actual sole.

So I put my baby down at 12:52 AM on March 24, and it was one of the hardest things I've ever done. I lost her within 7 hours of knowing anything was wrong. Yeah Im tearing up just thinking about it.

Anyways, she is in heaven tearing it up, so I will just keep thinking of that :)

Wow. That's horrible. I'm so sorry. That's that strangest injury I've ever heard of, especially with not finding anything that caused it.

So sorry for your loss. That had to be a horrible thing to go through.

So in lies the madness, the pursuit of the impossible in the face of the complete assurance that you will fail, and yet still you chase.

She runs like a deer! And I like the tail in the air, it makes it seem like she has a little attitude. :)

I'm sorry about your horse. :( You're stronger than I would have been. Maybe take another look and see if you can't figure out what she hurt herself on, if you get this pretty girl you wouldn't want her to get the same injury! (even though it seems like it was a freak accident)

Oh it was terrible thats for sure. But I know I did everything I could for her.

Honestly thats what scares me the most about getting another one. I don't wanna go through that pain again, she was SO young. And she was just getting done growing (dang thoroughbred blood. lol). So I hadnt had too much of an opportunity to really work with her under saddle. On the ground she was flawless, but under saddle, she was still just getting started.

Anyways, I have looked and looked and looked on that property where she hurt herself. I STILL don't know what it was, maybe another horse? idk. But that would scare the patootie out of me to get another one and have her hurt.
