Ok so I was offered a mare awhile back by the barn owner where I board. I refused at the time because I knew the chances of my keeping the mare were slim because I can only afford one horse, I only need one horse (due to time) and the horse I have is everything I want (once I finish her training anyway. Shes got the mind, willingness, personality etc.-so shes a keeper!). I would have felt bad if the owner gave me this horse and then I turned around and sold it and made money off of her. Well the other day he said thats what he had expected me to do and was fine with that. So im the temporary owner of a new mare! Ive been working with her and have just fallen in love training this horse! Ok so the specs on her...
Her name is Fairah Val and shes a registered Arabian mare (not my chosed breed but I dont dislike the breed). Shes a beautfiful shade of chestnut (although that is my least favorite color lol) and she has a conjoined star, strip, snip. I havent sticked her but she is around 15.1 or 15.2 I think, by comparing her to my mare whos 15.1. Conformation isnt my strong point but I think she is very well built, shes big and solid for an Arab!!!! Fairah has amazing bloodlines and was used as a broodmare her whole life. Only ever halter trained. Shes only had one foal (the barn owner/breeder doesnt breed every year all the time thank goodness!) The downside is this mare is either 10 or 11, ill have to check the papers. Ive had amazing progress working with this horse though, shes so smart, willing, confident, and it amazes me but shes EXTREMELY soft and sensitive! You put the slightest pressure on the halter and shell flex, or shell break at the poll and lower her head if you pull back with just a finger! Shes had the saddle and bridle on, even the first time I introduced it she accepted it as well as my trained mare does! Didnt flinch, didnt bulk, didnt tense, nothing! The most reaction ive gotten out of her was a back hunch and hop and that was when I put the surcingle on for the first time and sent her off at a trot, I think the jingling startled her lol. Im thrilled to have the chance to train this wonderful mare, and will place her for sale after the training. (or atleast thats the plan now :) who knows what will happen, but my hubby will probably make me stick to training and selling hehe. Maybe ill say shes not ready to sell and prolong it for awhile haha, shes really a spectacular mare!)
Ok some photos, ill have to go get more!!! lol
a confo shot, not the best but something

hahah sometimes she gets frisky and tosses her head, man she a rebel ahah
