I got bucked off today :(

It was my fault. I was riding this horse in the lower pasture where it is always flooded. He was doing great, I guess I took it too far. I decided to ride out into the spotwhere the water is about knee high. He freaked when his feet sunk in the deeper water. He whirled around and started bucking. I tried to get my reins short enough to pull his head around, couldn't quite do it. After a few seconds I got my balance and felt him slow down, I thought I was going to make it. One second later he dumps me. I landed on my hip, got the.wind knocked out of me. While I am laying there, unable to move with my wind gone, my hip hurt so bad I thought I broke it. I probably laid there for 10 min. I found out I could move it, nothing was broke. But I tried to walk back to.get the horse, the pain was so intense I kept almost passing out. I made it about ten feet at a time. The last 50 feet I just pushed through, I was almost completely blind. Not the dark blind like I am going to pass out, everything was so bright and blurry I couldn't see. Finally. I made it back to a chair and my phone and got some help. I am almost positive I was in shock from the pain. This was the most terrifying fall I.have ever had.

You're going to get yourself checked out by a doctor now, right?

I completely agree, you need to get checked out, especially if you were in that much pain.

I'm not in that much pain now, It hurts when I walk, but it isn't unbearable. I'm not taking any pain meds and it is okay

I would still get checked out. Better safe than sorry- very cliche but oh so true.

Go get a doctor to check you out anyway. Don't be an infant about it - if you were in as much discomfort as you describe in your first post upthread, then the smart thing is to NOT ignore it and try to be all macho and "tough it out". Be sensible and get it checked out. That much pain isn't "nothing". It's quite easily "something", and if you don't take care of it, you may well wind up not being able to do a bunch of riding that you could have otherwise done, if you'd been smart and got it treated quickly.

Why take the chance?
