I got into trouble today. :(

So...
There was an English tack store that is going out of business...

Well hubby decides I can go get all my tack today... Now remember he is not horsey at all.

Well I got everything, brand new tory leathers, padded dressage bridle, stubben irons, super nice woofwear tendon boots, 2 pairs of reins(I don't know how I ended up with two...) a new bit, a riding crop and a winter blanket.

He now hates my new hobby, and says he understands why my dad always hated my old horses.

But on the plus side it was such a good deal I bought literally everything except a saddle and girth. I think he should be happy. I SAVED us money by buying it discounted right... :p

If he was a "real" man then he would be happy his wife got things that made her happy, lol. Worth a try anyways, works on my old man at times.

Get prices at full price and make two columns with full/discount (your price) and add a total to the bottom. He'll love you forever xD

He doesn't realize its just about half (if not less) than buying everything at full price.

Haha. He looked at the stuff and sad "that's it" he couldn't understand why it so expensive. I'm not really in trouble. He just thinks I'm nuts. He loves Apollo, it was just his wake up call to the world of what they cost. :p
I still loved the comment about my dad...

Exactly what he did. He couldn't understand why the boots were 50 dollars.. He looked them up and they were 100 dollars online... I think I got about 900.00 worth of tack for 400

I loved his comment " we'll let's see what they are online" 3 seconds later.."oh, okay"

If he would rather, you could go to a cheap clothing store, buy an almost there skirt and top and head out to the bars, alone, every Friday and Sat night.

Sure it's expensive, but there are worse things we could do.

^ hehe!

See, this is why I do our budgeting. I have a small "horse budget" that puts a little money from every paycheck into a separate "horse account," so that I can happily spend every saved (horse) penny to my name while the hubby is blissfully ignorant!

Although sometimes when I receive more than one package in a week I get the skeptical raised-brow look...

I suspect I was at the same store as you last week., got new paddock boots, new show shirt, leather halter, tail bag. There was a lot more that I was tempted on.
