It would be nice if he'd just tell me rather then standing me up. Why is it so hard to find a good one?
He came out on the 9th and put shoes on my two horses and trimmed my mule and one mini. We chatted about the rodeo that was coming up, everything seemed good. The rodeo was the 14th and 15th, and my sister and her husband wanted to go so we borrowed a horse from the neighbor, who needed a trim. I called him and asked if he could do it, he said he could, the next day around noon. Somehow I got the job of waiting for him, he never showed. 3 days ago I am going to go on a ride w/ my nephew and the neighbor girl, when I see my horse is missing a shoe, I ride the other horse and deside to call when I get back, but I forgot. The next morning (yesterday) I'm at the vets and he comes in! Perfect! I don't mention the previous no show, I figure he forgot or something, so while I load the dog up my mom runs in and tells him and ask if he can come redo it. He says no problem, either this evening or tomorrow morning. Well this morning came and went, and no signs of him.
I have only used him for 6 months or so, but he's always been reliable, and if he can't make it (only once) he's called. So not sure what happened, but it is very frustrating. And all I need is ONE shoe! Seems like it's going to be even harder to find a new farrier that will be willing to come out for just one shoe (that I already paid for once).
I'm just venting, just one of those days I guess!
